Is any kinds of local snack which is favored by locals ?

Does anybody tell me if there is any kinds of  local snack which is favored by locals, in or around the city where you now live ?

Some Japanese pioneers succeeded in raising up small amount of  local snack toward nationwide big-name brands by means of supplying food festivals to have participants taste it.

Thanks to them, many favors the snack through the festivals and now tourists visit to the commune to taste it.  It finally proves that their new promotive ideas contribute to local economy.
